Quantum Sequencer 1.18

Quantum is a performance MIDI sequencer that approaches music composition through an interactive creation process often referred to as 'noodling'.

While pattern or piano-roll sequencers excel in structuring music forms like intro/verse/chorus or grid entry, Quantum focuses on individual steps. Imagine each step as a single note or chord on a music sheet, enriched with additional notations such as the probability of playing or ornamentation.

These meticulously detailed steps are organized into sequences, akin to melodies, that loop. Sequences can extend up to 64 steps, each of which can be subdivided into 4 sub-sequences with unique sequencer parameters like tempo, play direction, and transpose.

For inputting step parameters like note pitch, velocity, and gated length, Quantum provides 16 general faders enabling users to draw, drag, copy/paste, increment/decrement, and link values. These controls are MIDI learnable (MIDI CC or NRPN), facilitating the use of control surfaces or MIDI controllers.

To streamline control and enhance efficiency, Quantum features loop actions that can be programmed to execute tasks when a sequence loops—examples include transposition, randomization, or loading another sequence.

With the capability of playing up to 24 sequences simultaneously, Quantum offers a mixer page to blend MIDI velocities. Leveraging the MIDI Sequencer engine, individual MIDI effects, devices, and controllers can now be applied to each sequence.
